ISCREAMYOUSCREAM!!!!

I won this amazing machine! OMG. It is so great! I'm in heaven! It's a Cuisinart Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Sorbet maker. And it's simple to use, makes great creamy ice cream, and you don't need to buy special kinds of ingredients!

It was something i redeemed thru a points system on learnlexmark.com - a training website for work. We no longer carry Lexmark (sad bc i really saw that those machines are better performers) so i was worried my points would vanish. I also got free 20$ for amazon.com ! Yesterday i made some chocolate ice cream (low-fat) and it was just like real ice cream in 23 minutes! It makes a quart and a half so it's a lot. Today i am going to make some peach frozen yogurt.

After reading a lot of the customer reviews (one thing i just love about amazon.com) i was jazzed about getting it because a lot of people rated it real highly. The only thing that is true about the complaints is that the motor is noisy. But if you just get out of the kitchen and go do something else, it's not a big deal. And it's only for 20 minutes anyway. And you get a great treat.

It comes with a really good recipe booklet too. So, if you're wanting to splurge on a treat-maker that i think it would be fun to use often, you should get one too so you can be cool like me.

Also, i'm going to buy one of these. Someday. Please, Jesus promote me so i can have an amped up sports car. Amen.

If you don't mind downloading free (legal) software online this is one heck of a fun cool program. It's called earth.google.com and you can use satellites from you know, the SKY to look up people's houses anywhere! I haven't tried an international address bc i don't know anyone's address international, but it was fun typing in USA addresses. You can also explore the Grand Canyon and Mt. St. Helens.

I found out about it bc they were doing it on the projection screens during our jr. high church yesterday as a crowd-warm up. Typing in people's addresses. It's cool but you know it's also chillingly frightening to think that this technology is out there and only a few steps away from looking right in your kitchen window or something. Spying on everyone.

I'm going to try to find the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

Let me know if you get it.

This is the pic i used to draw the "Mean Link" from. It's actually funny since i don't own The Wind Waker yet -- i just think the artwork is AWESOME! Posted by Picasa

This is my "mean Link" picture. I don't like that one eyebrow. What was going on??? His head is kind of screwed up and and the hat didn't turn out right. And i didn't attempt the detail on his shield. Posted by Picasa

This is the picture i took the two drawings from. I may have to invest in some colored pencils!  Posted by Picasa

This is the first one i drew. The faded picture on the bottom was my 1st attempt which i knew was going wrong. I didn't expect the top to turn out so well so i had to keep it.  Posted by Picasa

I'm posting some drawings i've done (not traced!) from a WindWaker booklet i got with Ocarina. I've never ever drawn before in my life and after i did these i think i might be sort of good at it! I used two different kinds of ink pens and some linen paper. Posted by Picasa

HI! Well my posts are not
showing up which is
fine; i'm following Jon's advice
and cut/paste
which i think is dumb but it must be done.
Work is a complete nightmare
and since i've seen
so many news spots about
blogging about work
and reading articles on the dangers
of blogging about
work, i won't get into details but
i'll just sum it up
by blogging about work! I can't
stand my boss. I'm
disappointed in him beyond
words. We have such a
shortage of workers (i hate it
when politicians brag
about low unemployment.
The result is a shoddy work-
force and it makes it
impossible to find good help!)
and i despise going to work.
The ironic thing is (& i
have talked about this before)
i feel so hedged in because
everytime i send out a
resume or at least attempt to
something strange happens.
I've tried faxing applications
to other companies and just
as a fluke it's my fax that
won't go thru. We have a kinko's
in our parking lot.
I may have to go there to fax it
out. Why not shop at the
competition?

It's not just that back-to-school
falls on my shoulders. It's a
very messed up company
with too many shifting values.
It's like they ask you
to build a sky-scraper but
all they give you is the floor
plan with no laborforce, no payroll,
and you have a week to get it done
with no building materials.
I've resorted to saying, "I
left my magic wand at home...
I'm sorry i just can't get
this done."

It's gotten so bad that there
are times when i'm the
only manager in the building
and the floor is super hot
with a million customers and
long lines that i just go sit
in the break room on the
couch and stare at the wall.
I totally cannot deal with
it anymore. And the gripe
sessions i've had with the other
leadership don't change
the fact that our hands are tied.
And then the joy was i was on
over-nights this week
but had to go in on my day
off for a 7 a.m. meeting. It'd
be nice to catch up on sleep.
"Quality of life" - what a
joke.

Other than that pain and
headache and making my
associates wish they were
never born, i've become
totally hooked on Gilmore Girls
and watch it
everyday on re-runs. Great show.

And other than that, i've asked
everyone i know if the
grass is any greener on "the other side."
The resoundinganswer i've been
getting is, "No, it is not. Life just sucks."
I'm even getting really half-hearted
commitments
from my students at church. 100
degree weather or
not, these kids were my heroes
and i can't get them to
want to be involved with stuff
this summer either.

Well that's maybe what i can do:
blame it on the weather.
I am thankful for Air Conditioning
and i tell God that
everyday!!!

I'm going to finish laundry,
play some Zelda, make some
stir fry and zone out in
front of the TV. Stay cool.

My brain is
complete mush. I am so exhausted.
I woke up early today (bad sign) to
play this crazy game that has me so
addicted! OMG what am i, 12????!!

I could not beat the evil boss at the
end of the 3rd dungeon even tho i
tried for like 40 minutes. I didn't have
to cheat either to find out how to do
it. Turns out there was no real short cut.
You just have to hack and hack and boomarang
and hack and kill kill kill.
I was determined to do it on my
own without cheating on some walkthru page
online. But then i had to go to work so
i had all day to plan my strategy.

[Sidenote don't ask me why an office supply
company had to be open on INDEPENDANCE
DAY! There was a parade that even went by our
store and i was like, "hey guys, let's push our red
rolling rack of clearance crap on the parade route!
Maybe that way we'll actually sell some stuff today!
omg!" No one wanted to, tho.]

I came home and was beat once and then
went back at it. This evil thing was like
electrical octopus with a billion tentacles
that shoot electricity at me, surrounded
by 8 jellyfish who are just as bad. It was
like fighting an amusement ride that had
gone totally bizerk. And i don't even
care if i'm spelling that wrong. Buzurk.

Finally kill the thing, get my 3rd spiritual
stone (praise you JESUS!), get Princess
Ruto back to her dad. She proposes marriage
to me but then nothing came of it, which
was weird (i had to rescue this rebellious
brat ugg) and then the owl took me back to
the castle only to watch
Ganondorf ride off after the princess [Zelda,
not Ruto], and
after a bunch of cool story/movie things in
the game that i got to watch, i find out i'm
not a little kid anymore, i'm a grown up Link!
Rock on! Plus i got the Master Sword.

Just tracking my progress on here. But i'm
so exhausted now. My next mission is to find
some sage where the gravekeeper is buried
at Kokoriko village.

I can't believe i'm going to say this but i was actually rooting for Lindsay Davenport this morning in the women's championships at Wimbeldon. It was her vs. Venus Williams.

Lindsay has always annoyed me - and i won't be suprised if she retires soon even tho she is my age of 29. But today for some reason i just wanted her to kick Venus' tail. It was neck and neck the whole time.

I am not a big Venus fan - Serena i love tho. Serena was not in the championships this time around for some reason i can't remember. I had to tape the last 4/5 of it bc i had to go to work. What a match tho! Just amazing. Andy vs. Roger tomorrow morning. I'll be watching! (I am not sure who i will root for. I usually decide that when they walk out - who ever seems more humble and not so cockey about it. And who ever seems like they are going to be fun - not like Venus was so solemn.)

The following recipe is so great i just had to take a picture of it. Even tho Mr. Trevor and i are not seeing each other any more-- i do gotta say he left me with one killer burrito recipe that i will make until I die. We made these for dinner a few weeks ago and i made it again tonight. I call these "Trevor Tacos" altho they are not tacos.

Here's what you do. First of all, this will call for some ingredients you have probably never cooked with - you gotta try something new once in awhile, right? Don't be scared!

Your grocery list in no particular order:

1 lb. ground turkey frozen (you know, that log thing) - tho i am sure you can buy fresh ground turkey too.
1 big green pepper
1 big yellow onion
2 or 3 cloves of garlic
Toasted seseme oil
Soy sauce (they make it reduced sodium too so if you wanted to try that; i use the real stuff)
Basmati rice (don't skimp on your budget here. Find this stuff! It's amazing. We had to really hunt for it in my grocery store but it came in a bag that was microwave ready. Very hearty rice - you gotta use it.)
1 can of diced or stewed tomatoes. I used a 15-oz can that had diced green peppers, onions and garlic mixed in bc i like a lot of garlic.
cumin*
cinnemon*
garlic powder*
red pepper flakes*
chili powder*
cayenne pepper
salt & pepper
shredded cheddar cheese (i use reduced fat cause you know i'm shrinking - and they make reduced fat cheese that actually tastes good now so why not use it?)
big flour tortillas (you'll need about 6 or 8 of the grande size)

* starred stuff is optional i guess. I'd use it all bc i like it all. You need to pick a combo that works for you. If you don't like one just skip it but you are going to need to season it with some of those ingredients! The combo of flavors is out of this world. I also enjoy SPICEY so i put a lot of all that in there - but you can do it to taste. I won't tell you how much of any of the spices to sprinkle in.

So you preheat your big honkin' skillet. Get your toasted seseme oil warmed up and near sizzling. Be generous with this stuff (doesn't it smell AMAZING??) Use at least a few table spoons. This is going to flavor your meat well. Always remember to only preheat no higher than med-high. Put your ground turkey in there and get that all browned up.

While da meat is getting brown, chop up your green pepper and onion and smash your garlic cloves and get that chopped up too. You can cut your veggies however you want. When meat is browned, add all the veggies & i'd add more seseme oil at this point too. I'd put another tblsp in or more. Also put in about 1 or 2 tblsp of soy sauce at this point to get some moisture popping in the pan. You are going to want to blend these ingredients at a med or med high heat. You could maybe put a little more than 2 tblsp of soy sauce. Just be careful bc you don't want that to over-power. At this point, start seasoning the crap out of your meat and veggies. I just keep adding more spices until it is great tasting. Go easy on the cinnemon. It's just there to have that "hmmmm???" in the background when you eat it. I don't know if i am spelling cinnemon correctly. haha

While those veggies are softening, get your rice ready and in a smaller sauce pan heat up the rice (after it's cooked if you don't have the precooked stuff like i found) with the diced tomatoes. I guess this is not really necessary - you could add the rice and toms directly to meat mixture thing after the onions and peppers are cooked thru. But that's just how we did it. If you hate loading your dishwasher as much as i do ( and unloading it ) skip the stupid warm up pot!

Get all of that mixed together when the rice/tom mixture is warm, and let it simmer until it's all happy in the pan (like Emeril would say). Nuke your tortillas for about 20 seconds and get your cheese ready. Make the burritos by placing a huge ladle full of the mixture into the top center of the disc, sprinkle cheese all over it (i use A LOT OF CHEESE YAYAYAYAY!) then fold the bottom up over it and fold the sides over that. It should have an envelope at the bottom now so you can pick it up and eat it. Oh but do let that mixture cool just a tad before you put it in there bc otherwise the heat will make it fall apart. It should NOT be runney! If it is runney (again spelling???) you put too much soy sauce in or something. It should be thick and chunkey. No sauce left over. It should not drench your tortilla. I guess if it did, you can just plop the thing on a plate and eat it with a spoon or a fork. You could also probably add some sour cream if you wanted to. If i did that, i'd go for the low-fat stuff. But i don't think it needs any more flavor.

It's a healthy meal and freezes well if you want to make up a bunch and use it later when you don't feel like standing and cooking for 45 minutes. Me, i just save it in the fridge and eat off it for a few days. OMG so yummy!

OKay so dictionary.com says it is spelled C I N N A M O N. (use it.)

Now that you've saved on calories, why not make this amazing fatty french silk chocolate pie for a dessert??? After you eat those burritos you will want something chocolately!!!
